SPECTATOR NOT AUDIENCE!!!

Mr. Gerano said last Friday that you don’t call audience your audience when they are watching a play or skit because audience means listener obviously for the root word audio or listen but instead you call them spectators because from the root word spect means to see so spectator because they are watching a play or skit but if it is a concert event then you call them audience because they listen to the music or songs. That’s another new thing I learned form the class of Mr. Gerano aside from using the word TOILET instead of C.R. ( Comfort Room ) or rest room .

March for Life!!!

Yesterday, we had a march rally regarding in disapproving for the RH Bill to be implemented. So we assembled in DE PAUL COLLEGE and there are also other schools with us such as the Colegio De San Jose, Iloilo Central Commercial High School, SAGRADO and etc. So we marched or parade from DE PAUL going to the Jaro Plaza Gym but we didn’t proceed directly inside instead we marched around the plaza and there we went inside the Jaro Plaza Gym. And there we had a mass and it was no that successful because the microphone was not working well and as well as the sound system. So we just let the mass go on led by Bishop Almenazi and the Knights of Columbus and then after the mass we went home immediately because if we will still stay we could go home around 6 p.m. because we are still going to listen to the speakers and attend the program. So we just went home without any learning about their side in implementing the RH Bill which we are going to make a reaction paper about. Unfortunately, we went home because if we will stay we still can’t hear and understand because as I said earlier the sound system and the microphone is not working well.

Fire Dance Practices!!

This March 11, 2011, we, the C.S.E.P. Scholars of Assumption Socio- Educational Center Barrio Obrero (ASEC), will welcome the French Sponsors during our cultural night at this date and the program includes the different dances of the Philippines performed by the C.S.E.P. scholars from first year high school to fourth year college. And for us, second year, we will dance the fire dance so every afternoon from the class and every Saturday and Sunday we are practicing for the fire dance and it was so tiring, imagine now also that we are practicing for the field demo here in Assumption- Iloilo and then when I go home I just change my clothes and then proceed again to ASEC for the fire dance practice and we usually end at 8:00 p.m. so, what if there are still assignments, mastery tests and quizzes for the next day.!!! OH!!!!! I just imagined how I can manage my time!! You will probably think why do I practice fire dance, right? And if there’s nothing in return? If you thought of that then now you will know. So here it goes, I studied in ASEC since my pre-school and grade school life and graduated there but if I am not a C.S.E.P. scholar there, by the way with me are Louise Evasco and Blessa Chiquito, I couldn’t study there because we can’t afford also the tuition there but good thing that I am a scholar there so, my French sponsor pays half from my tuition and she sends me extra money sometimes especially during Christmas and of course letters, by the way her name was Roselyne Macario. I am thankful that she is there to support me from my studies and so when she died last year November, I wept because she contributed a lot in my studies because if she is not supporting me since I am in grade school, I could not study here also in Assumption- Iloilo as a scholar again and pays only for the miscellaneous so, I wondered when she is not sending me any letter anymore before she died only that I knew she already died and fortunately, her daughter accepted her commitment to me in giving me allowance every month. So, I was also thankful to her also. So that’s the story why I am practicing for Fired Dance.

Embarrassing Moment!!

In LITMUS specifically in Binalaybay, which I don’t want to recall anymore because I was so embarrassed and I disappointed Mr. Guintivano because I admit that I wasn’t that prepared and it was so obvious with my attire during the contest even me I can’t understand what my attire looks. Actually, I was just given two days to memorize the whole 15 stanzas but I only memorized the piece just the day before the LITMUS contest but it doesn’t mean that I am blaming already Mr. Guintivano who made the piece and just gave it to me two days before because I think he forgot last Christmas Vacation that he said to me that he will be the one who will make the piece and not me so I didn’t make but a week before the Intramurals, he told me if I memorized my piece already and I was surprised because I thought he would do it for me because he said so before the vacation and so he admit that he forgot and he asked me if I can make and I said I don’t know how to especially it is in Hiligaynon and it was so deep but I said I will try also and if possible, I would just hire a person who would do it also for me because I was so busy and I don’t know also how to make but unfortunately, I didn’t find one. So by the time I will present, at first I was so confident but there’s a word that made me confused because I can’t pronounce it well and added by my nervous I forgot the rest of the paragraphs and I tried to make up but I can’t because I was already shivering and so I just ended it and came back to my seat thinking that I disappointed my tribe and our tribe advisers so, I asked for their forgiveness and I felt everyone laughed at me and I thought that what if I would not go to school anymore because I felt that the world is laughing at me every time I pass by them. But, I was encouraged by my mother that I would not lose hope and continue life. Hehehehehehehe!!....  Anyways, back to the story so before I joined the LITMUS contest I was first a cheer leader of the Tribe C when our tribe has a game and I almost lose my voice so I stopped because I was afraid that I could lose my voice before the LITMUS so I just silently watched the games and just jump as a sign that I am cheering too

Intramurals 2011!!

The Intramurals of the Year 2011 was a success. I belong to the tribe of Asher or Tribe C and for me we really deserve to be in the second place next to the first placer, the Manasseh Tribe that the amazing Mr. Pedroso belongs to and we admit that they are really good and they did their best especially when there is a dance competition like the Field Demo and the Ethnic Dance, they were so prepared with all the props and costumes. Anyways, every afternoon I am always excited to dance for the filed demo so everyday I feel that I am just going to school just to practice for our field demo and that was so funny of me. Actually, I wasn’t able to join the ball games only in LITMUS specifically in Binalaybay, which I don’t want to recall anymore because I was so embarrassed and I disappointed Mr. Guintivano because I admit that I wasn’t that prepared and it was so obvious with my attire during the contest even me I can’t understand what my attire looks. Hehehehehehehe!!....  Anyways, back to the story so before I joined the LITMUS contest I was first a cheer leader of the Tribe C when our tribe has a game and I almost lose my voice so I stopped because I was afraid that I could lose my voice before the LITMUS so I just silently watched the games and just jump as a sign that I am cheering too. So that’s all for the Intramurals 2011.

Running for Assistant P.R.O.!!!

Running for the position of Assistant P.R.O is very difficult especially when you have an opponent who’s very influential because of her sisters in the other levels. At first, I don’t want to run because my mother is worried about the stress that would give me for this responsibility if ever I will win but then I was encouraged by Mrs. Simpas because she said that if I am part of the L-CBA at the present I am expected to run also for a position for the next new set of L-CBA next school year. So, I ran for the position and campaigned all over the high school department except the whole first year and the fourth year because I forgot that we have a campaign so, I wasn’t able to campaign to them anyways I am a part of the Transition Party which means transition because from the word itself means a change of state, we chose because the theme for the next school year is change maybe in terms of caring for mother nature, social changes, mental changes or emotional changes. The other party named CGO PAR party was I admit very good in terms of their platform for the next school year and very committed on campaigning every silence period. So, when the Election Day came I was not that nervous because I knew already I would lose because my opponents are Kylie Cravajal and Arianna Melgar. So, I lose and Kylie won and the rest of their members in CGO PAR Party and we are happy for them as a sign of sportsmanship.

Travelogue of Year 2 2011!!

Last March 3, 2011 (Thursday), we had a program in show casing the lessons we learned last month. So, the program includes the presenting of the Investigatory projects, Sayawit, Skits or presentations of both French and Spanish Classes, also the Travelogue and Verse Choir. First of all the French Class presented a skit directed by our dear classmate of Year 2- St. Anne, Princess Dalayawon, which we all can’t understand of course because it was in French language but it was great only that their voice projections are not that loud enough for us to hear at the back. Next, the Spanish Class presented and sang a song which is also in Spanish language led also by our classmate Andrea Bernadas. Then, the presenters of the SIP or the Science Investigatory Project that includes the representative for the whole second year the presenters of Year 2- St. Catherine, they were chose because their project is very good that can helped In reducing air pollution in our country, the used of chalk dust as fire extinguisher so they did it very well. And the other SIP presenters followed and they were also good especially the first year students who presented the balloon that would not explode when struck by the pointed stick and it was awesome. So after the presenters of the SIP, the presenters of the travelogues followed and that includes me that represents the whole second year and introduces Iran to the spectators. And so we began by playing the national anthem of Iran or the so-called Persia from the ancient time. And then we spoke our lines and the funny thing was that Aurora forgot her line because she was destructed by the third year learners according to her and the spotlight people were, I think surprised and laughed out loud that they forgot to just turn the spotlight to the next person so when it happened Aurora got her copy and said it again and so the others followed after her and that includes me and the presentation goes on and the dancers of Year 2- St. Anne danced namely, Becha, Angela and etc. and also there are dancers from St. Elizabeth led by Anne Therese Yee.
